Several area players, including two from Edgewood and one from Bloomington South, were given All-State Honorable Mention status by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
Senior All-Staters were Angela Hacker and Hannah Rommel from Edgewood, Morgan Settle of Mooresville, Michaela Brockman of Shoals and Wynter Wagoner of Loogootee.
Underclass honorees included Lauren Whitlatch of Bloomington South; Dominique McBryde and Brittani Rizzi of Bedford North Lawrence and Sophie Sears of Paoli. Indian Creek’s Ally Lehman was an underclass first-team pick.

Early thunderstorms put a stop to several area high school events today.
Postponed are: baseball games Greencastle at Brown County, and Shoals at Bloomfield, with no make up dates set, and Bloomington North at Lawrence North, tentatively moved to May 7; softball games, Edgewood at Mitchell, Center Grove at Bloomington North, Bloomfield at Springs Valley and Bloomington South at Shakamak with no make up dates set; girls’ tennis, the Brown County Invitational, with no make up date, and Bloomfield’s trip to the Loogootee Invitational has been pushed back to April 23.
Cancelled with no make up are Edgewood’s baseball games with Rockford (Mich.) and Lawrence Central.

South’s Dee Davis and Kaila Hulls are on the rosters for the boys’ and girls’ South teams at the 23rd annual North/South Indiana All-Star Classic on April 10 at Vincennes University.
The doubleheader will feature the girls’ game at 2 p.m. and the boys’ 4. Tickets are $10 at the door or in advance by calling 812-888-4354 or 800-945-2586.
Other nearby invitees are Alex Pritchett of Bedford North Lawrence and Garrett Bateman of Shoals on the boys’ side and Jama Sharp from Mooresville and Courtney Larson of Columbus North on the girls’.

SULLIVAN 62, WHITE RIVER VALLEY 50: Levi Hostetter had all 12 of his points in the second quarter as WRV worked back to tie the game at halftime, but Sullivan was too strong in the second half. Rhett Smith had 26 points for the Arrows. David McNeal also had 12 points for WRV.

SHOALS 63, BLOOMFIELD 62: Garrett Bateman exploded for 43 points, the last three coming on a running 23-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Shoals a thrilling double-overtime win. Andy Cochrane had 25 points for Bloomfield, which trailed by four in each overtime. Regulation ended in a 39-all tie.

NORTHVIEW 53, OWEN VALLEY 48: Northview shocked the Patriots for its second win of the season, rallying late after losing a seven-point halftime lead. Woody Worland hit six 3s and had 20 points for OV.

TRADERS POINT 67, LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN 52: Derek Perry had 15 points to lead Lighthouse.
