Here are your girls’ basketball Player of the Week nominees:

Morgan Bivins, Bloomington South

Bivins had 13 points and eight rebounds against Indianapolis Tech, including a 5-of-6 effort from the free throw line. She hit a jumper and two free throws late to help seal a close 45-43 win.

Emily Brady, Brown County

Brady may have scored 10 points, but they came when it counted against Bloomingotn North. She scored the go-ahead layup with 20 seconds left and hit three of her eight free throw makes in the game in the fourth quarter in a 45-43 win.

Amanda Butler, Eastern Greene

With 18 points, Butler helped her team pull away from Cloverdale in a 60-34 win.  She commanded the offense and also picked up three assists.

Erin Sherfield, Edgewood

The entire Mustangs crew struggled against Danville in a loss, but in a win over White River Valley earlier in the week, Sherfield led her team with 15 points, including eight makes from the free throw line.

Sophia Paflas, Bloomington North

The Cougars were disappointed in a tight loss to Brown County, but Paflas played well. She shot 6-of-14 from the floor for 12 points and six rebounds.

  1. There is a typo in the description regarding Emily Brady’s game performance. She hit 8 out of her 10 free throws, not 3. Thank you.
